It is the second week of October and today I have heard the sound of the engine for the first time. We put together a make shift gas tank to supply the engine with fuel as well as water to cool from a bucket. Even it was only for a few minutes, the roaring sound of this 60 year old engine is fantastic. I think this is a big step. There are a few paint problems as well as the fact that we are still waiting for a new exhaust manifold and an air filter from the mail. Well, it takes time but it will all get together very well. The sound of the engine makes it all worth.

When I got the car from the previous owners garage, it hasn't been used for the last 20 years. Nobody remembered how it used to run! Well I don't know when I will hear this engine roar. Since the door locks didn't work. We had to tie the front door to the body of the car. As if we didn't the rope snapped and almost hit road sign on the way.
1950 Mercedes-Benz 170V
This is my 1950 Mercedes-Benz 170V.
I started the restoration process in June 2009.
The car looks better than it actually is. Although rust is very limited to some expected areas, the missing gadgets and mostly chrome parts are going to be the hardest to find.
Chassis is still very strong with no rust and damage to anywhere.
